Hello, My name is Lisa and I am proud to be a Northshore School District School (NSD) Nurse and to serve at Westhill Elementary. This is an amazing school and I am honored to be your School Nurse!
I have been a nurse for 15 years and began my nursing career in adult medicine, working in an intensive care unit (board certified critical care nurse), and served in the United States military – Navy Critical Care Nurse for 5 years (deployed to Afghanistan for 8 months). In addition, I recently worked with children and young adults in California as a School Nurse, in a prenatal care/midwife clinic, in a University health clinic, and in a corporate health/wellness center performing physicals for the FBI and Secret Service - fit for duty annuals.
I have a Masters degree in Nursing from Yale University and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of San Diego. I fell in love with school nursing when I realized that I could incorporate my nursing and educational background in one area.
It has been my mission to serve as a school nurse in my local community and provide the best care to every student and family unit. I love working at Westhill and being involved in keeping children healthy so they can stay in the classroom and learn!
I have a wonderful family of 4, we live local and my son is currently attending Shelton View Elementary (NSD). Our daughter is attending preschool at Birchtree Academy in Bothell. My husband is a former Marine Corps FA-18 pilot – and now flies a desk at Boeing (over 10 years of Marine Corps service).
