Dear Parents and Neighbors of Westhill Elementary School and Sorenson Early Childhood Center:
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you about an important change we are planning regarding the School Zone Beacon Times to better accommodate both schools on our shared property.
Currently, Westhill Elementary operates from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with school zone beacons activated from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. to 4:10 p.m.
In contrast, Sorenson Early Childhood Center offers both morning and afternoon programs, with the morning program running from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon program running from 2:15 p.m. to 4:30 pm..
To enhance safety for all students on our shared campus and the surrounding community, we will be implementing in partnership with the City of Bothell, a new beacon schedule:

7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

2:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This change will take place on October 10, 2024.
We understand that this change may present some challenges for drivers, especially those living in nearby neighborhoods. However, the safety of our students is our top priority, and we believe these updated beacon times will significantly contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
